Description
Danios are a group of small, active, and brightly colored freshwater fish that are native to South and Southeast Asia. They are a popular aquarium fish, known for their energetic swimming behavior and their tolerance to a wide range of water conditions. Danios are schooling fish and should be kept in groups of at least five to six individuals to prevent stress and promote their natural behaviors. There are several species of danios, including the zebrafish (Danio rerio), leopard danio (Danio rerio var. frankei), pearl danio (Danio albolineatus), and giant danio (Devario aequipinnatus). Danios are relatively easy to care for and can be fed a varied diet of flakes, pellets, and live or frozen foods.
