The Polypterus Palmas Bichir is a fascinating freshwater species from the Polypteridae family, native to the slow-moving rivers and swamps of West Africa. Renowned for its elongated body, armored scales, and multiple dorsal finlets, this species brings a prehistoric charm to large aquariums.

At 20–25 cm, these bichirs are already well-grown juveniles and can reach 30–38 cm (12–15 inches) as adults. Known for their calm temperament and bottom-dwelling habits, Palmas Bichirs are ideal for monster fish keepers and experienced aquarists seeking unique, exotic species.

Feeding Habits
