Water condition: Freshwater, PH 6.0 - 7.5
Tank mates: Other larger, peaceful fish. Avoid small fish that it can eat. Suitable companions include Angelfish, medium-sized Congo Tetras, Synodontis catfish, and other African or New World cichlids. Keep Xenomystus nigri alone or in a group only in large tanks, as adults become territorial and can bully or fight each other.
