Tank mates: A highly carnivorous species, suitable tank mates invlude large Tinfoil Barbs, Polypterus species, large Synodontis catfish, other similarly-sized non-aggressive characins, and large Loricariids (armored catfish). Avoid keeping smaller fish or shrimp, as the African Pike will eat them. If housing multiple Hepsetus odoe, they must be of equal size to prevent harassment.
