Description

Golden honey gourami (Trichogaster chuna) is a peaceful freshwater fish popular in the aquarium hobby due to their stunning golden coloration, ease of care, and peaceful temperament. They are native to slow-moving rivers and streams in Southeast Asia, specifically India, Bangladesh, and Bhutan. In the wild, they feed on small insects, crustaceans, and plants. Golden honey gouramis are omnivores and can be fed a variety of commercial fish food, frozen or live food, and vegetables. They are a popular choice for community aquariums but can also be kept in pairs or small groups in a species-only tank. Golden honey gouramis prefer soft, slightly acidic water conditions and ample hiding places among plants or rocks. They are relatively easy to breed, and males are known for their bubble-nesting behavior.
