MARINEPURE BIOFILTER MEDIA (OHF BOX) INSERT

The BioFilter Media Insert for Overhead Filter Box is a high-performance biofilter media from MarinePure. It can be used in both fresh and salt water aquarium for the removal of Ammonia, Nitrites and Nitrate.

MarinePure BioMedia is made of inert ceramic substrates with vast surface area and open-flow porosity, allowing water to flow through the media. This combination of vast surface area and open/interconnected pores allow a thin bio-film to develop throughout the entire media, while old dead bio-film is easily flushed from the media and will not plug the media. Beneficial bacteria in the thin bio-film can then efficiently eliminate Ammonia and Nitrites, while the media houses the anaerobic bacteria that reduces Nitrates.
