Description

The royal tetra is a species of characin endemic to Brazil, where it is found in the Aripuanã River. It is also kept as an aquarium fish. It is the sole member of its genus.

thrives in a tank of at least 10 gallons. Maintain the water temperature between 75-82°F (24-28°C) with a pH level of 6.0-7.5. Provide them with a well-planted tank and subdued lighting. They are omnivorous, so feed them a varied diet of high-quality flakes, pellets, and small live or frozen foods. Keep them in small groups of 6 or more and provide ample swimming space.
