Salvin's Cichlid (Trichromis Salvini)

Trichromis salvini, commonly known as the Salvini Cichlid or Yellow Belly Cichlid, is one of the most vividly colored freshwater fish from Central America. With its brilliant yellow body, bold black lateral markings, and electric red and blue highlights on the fins, this species brings intense color and personality to any aquarium.

Although compact in size, the Salvini is full of character — intelligent, territorial, and fiercely protective during breeding. It thrives in aquariums with rocky décor, hiding spots, and good water flow. Best kept with other robust cichlids of similar temperament, it adds a dynamic and fiery presence to any setup.
