Petrotilapia chitimba is a striking and powerful mbuna species from the rocky shores of Lake Malawi. Known for its intense coloration and strong presence, males display deep electric blue to violet tones with subtle black barring, while females are golden-brown with faint markings — both equally beautiful in their natural form.
Active and territorial, the Chitimba Petrotilapia is best kept in spacious, rock-filled aquariums with plenty of hiding spaces to define territories. This species is an excellent choice for experienced aquarists seeking to recreate the authentic energy and vibrancy of Malawi’s rocky reefs.
