Description
Ember Tetra (Hyphessobrycon amandae) is a small, peaceful freshwater fish species belonging to the Characidae family. They are native to the Araguaia River basin in Brazil and are named after Amanda, the wife of one of the researchers who first discovered the species. Ember Tetras have a distinctive bright red coloration with a black patch on their caudal peduncle, which makes them a popular choice for aquarists. They are relatively easy to care for and do best in small groups in a planted aquarium with ample hiding places. They have a lifespan of around 2-3 years and are omnivores, feeding on a diet of flake, pellet, and frozen foods.
